The initiative trialled a streamlined approach to connect and match students undertaking a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) with residential aged care providers looking to employ personal care workers.

The aim of the initiative was to support the growth of a skilled aged care workforce by:

  • providing residential care providers looking for employees, access to a pool of people who have relevant skills and experience; and
  • supporting students to complete their Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) through completion of their mandatory workplace placement

We have been pleased with portal usage and the levels of placements to date.

The project was scheduled to conclude on 30 March 2022, however due to continued interest from some employers and students the initiative was extended. The portal is now commencing wind-down and will be finalised by 30 June 2022.
